It defines the priorities – express, standard, consolidated shipments – by which vehicles are staggered over time, how labour and materials-handling equipment are allocated dynamically, and which KPIs measure dock system performance. High-throughput logistics centers typically develop this strategy as part of their broader network planning. Operating at a tactical rather than operational level, the ramp management strategy has a direct bearing on warehouse efficiency, staffing costs, and transport cost structures.
