Multi-Modal Freight Capacity Enhancement Projects are initiatives aimed at increasing the capacity and efficiency of freight transport systems by integrating two or more transportation modes (e.g. rail, road, inland waterways, maritime), through infrastructure upgrades, technological innovations, and operational improvements, thereby reducing bottlenecks, optimizing modal interchange, and supporting sustainable and resilient supply chains.
