Terminal capacity planning is the systematic assessment, planning, and design of the available capacity at a transport terminal (e.g., port, rail terminal, freight terminal), including personnel, infrastructure, equipment, processes, and time windows, to accommodate future traffic flows, reduce waiting times, and meet performance objectives.
