Unlike a status change requiring checks or manual approval, a pass-through status change is automatically forwarded to downstream systems: a transition from one state to the next (for instance, from 'in processing' to 'shipped') is immediately transmitted to recipients, downstream warehouses, or customer systems without delay or intermediate steps.
