Lift-on/Lift-off (LoLo) cargo vessel operations refer to the handling of cargo whereby goods are lifted onto and off a vessel using cranes—either onboard or shore-based—rather than being rolled on or off the ship. LoLo operations are commonly employed for containerized, breakbulk and project cargo requiring crane handling.
