An international maritime security framework established under the SOLAS Convention to protect ships and port facilities from security threats. It requires security plans (Ship Security Plan and Port Facility Security Plan), the designation of a Ship Security Officer and a Port Facility Security Officer, security assessments, and the implementation of security measures and procedures.
