Incoterms letter of credit

A practice in which payment and documentary requirements are handled via a documentary credit (letter of credit) while the responsibilities, costs, and risks are defined between buyer and seller according to the applicable Incoterms. Payment is guaranteed by the letter of credit, with the seller required to present the specified documents, and the credit opened by the buyer's bank.
