Hazardous Area Classification is the systematic process of identifying and categorizing areas where potentially explosive atmospheres or other hazardous conditions, such as the presence of flammable gases, vapours, dusts, or fibres, may occur under normal or abnormal conditions, in order to determine appropriate equipment, protective measures, and safety standards for storage, handling, transportation, and operation in such environments.
