Access is generally limited to Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) certificate holders, who submit advance electronic pre-notifications and can demonstrate a consistent track record of regulatory compliance. For supply chains operating on tight schedules, the practical benefit is straightforward: less waiting time at busy crossing points translates directly into greater delivery predictability. Within EU border management, the procedure is deployed mainly at high-volume crossings to prevent low-risk bulk consignments from creating bottlenecks. It should not be confused with the Red Lane, reserved for shipments with elevated risk profiles or incomplete documentation.
