In freight forwarding and customs operations, it underpins shipment tracking, inventory management, and regulatory compliance: customs authorities cross-reference identification data against declarations during clearance, while warehouse staff rely on it for accurate picking and order fulfilment. Without clear identification, mix-ups, duplicate records, and clearance delays quickly accumulate.
