Mutual Recognition of Customs Controls in Freight Trade is an agreement between the customs administrations of two or more countries whereby each party accepts the inspection procedures, security standards and control documentation of the other as equivalent. The purpose is to eliminate duplicate controls, accelerate cargo flows and enhance efficiency in cross-border trade.
