A free zone is a designated area within a country where goods can be stored, manipulated, manufactured, or reconfigured, typically with tax and customs incentives. Duties and trade barriers are usually reduced or suspended while goods remain in the zone, and different regulatory treatment may apply when goods leave the zone.
