Landlocked region freight transport programs are policy and infrastructure initiatives designed to improve the efficiency, reliability and cost-effectiveness of freight transport in landlocked regions. Their aim is to reduce trade barriers, lower transit costs and overcome geographic disadvantages. Typical measures include the development of multimodal transport corridors, transit agreements, streamlined customs procedures and infrastructure upgrades.
