EPA Freight Emissions Standards are regulations set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) that establish maximum allowable levels of pollutants and greenhouse gases emitted by heavy-duty freight vehicles (e.g., diesel trucks and tractor-trailers). They target reductions in nitrogen oxides (NOₓ), particulate matter (PM), carbon monoxide (CO), volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and CO₂-equivalents to improve air quality and public health.
