Enhanced due diligence (EDD) refers to a more stringent set of checks and ongoing monitoring applied to higher-risk customers, transactions, or geographic areas, beyond standard due diligence, to prevent money laundering, terrorist financing, and other illicit activities within freight, trade finance, and supply chains.
