Unlike passive insulation, active energy recovery systems at cargo terminals capture waste energy generated during normal operations – condenser heat from refrigeration units, heat from air compressors, kinetic energy from regenerative braking on electric forklifts – and convert it into usable electricity or heat fed back into site operations.
