End-use control

End-use control is a regulatory or exporter-led verification procedure designed to confirm that exported goods reach the declared ultimate consignee and are not diverted to unauthorised third parties.

End-use control is a regulatory or exporter-led verification procedure designed to confirm that exported goods reach the declared ultimate consignee and are not diverted to unauthorised third parties. It applies primarily to dual-use items, military equipment, and other licensed goods, as well as shipments destined for countries subject to embargo regimes. It should not be confused with export licensing, which focuses on the point of departure; end-use control extends scrutiny through the entire supply chain to the point of actual use.
