Shippers and freight forwarders use direct transit without stop when every minute of border crossing time matters: goods traverse a customs territory with the conveyance in continuous motion, without any intermediate storage, transshipment, or stop at a waypoint. The vehicle or train remains under uninterrupted customs supervision throughout, eliminating any customs formalities at intermediate locations. This procedure is typically applied on high-traffic corridor routes and at congested border crossings where even brief delays generate downstream costs. Compared to standard direct transit, the without-stop variant is more restrictive: it excludes even short operational pauses, making it the most streamlined – and most tightly controlled – form of customs transit.
