Under CPT (Carriage Paid To), the seller delivers the goods to the carrier at the named place of shipment and pays for the carriage to the named destination. Risk transfers to the buyer once the goods are handed over to the carrier at the point of loading. Transport delay refers to a delay in the carriage of the goods, arising from a failure to perform transport obligations in a timely manner; liability and cost allocation depend on the contract terms and the point of risk transfer.
