CPT (Carriage Paid To) means that the seller, after delivering the goods to a carrier or another person designated by the seller at an agreed place, pays for the carriage to the named destination. The risk transfers from seller to buyer when the goods are handed over to the first carrier. The seller bears the costs of the carriage to the named destination (including freight to that point and export clearance); insurance is not normally included unless specifically agreed.
