CPT (Carriage Paid To) is an Incoterms rule under which the seller delivers the goods to the carrier or another person nominated by the seller at the origin place, and pays the freight to the named destination. Risk transfers to the buyer when the goods are delivered to the first carrier, regardless of the terms of carriage. The seller is not required to insure the goods unless specifically agreed.
