Rather than the divergent national hazard classification systems it replaced, the CLP Regulation (EC No 1272/2008) establishes a single EU-wide framework for classifying, labelling, and packaging chemical substances and mixtures, aligned with the United Nations' Globally Harmonized System (GHS).
