Description
The Freight Academy Global Cargo Airport Capability Dataset covers ~37,900 airports worldwide. Beyond geographic base data (coordinates, IATA/ICAO codes, type, country), each entry contains the Frachtportal proprietary enrichment layer: cargo relevance classification (A–D), cargo terminal availability, customs status, import/export relevance, dangerous goods and pharma handling, and distance metrics.
Geographic base data is derived from the OurAirports dataset (Public Domain). Classification and logistics intelligence is Frachtportal's own editorial and algorithmic assessment.

Each record has its own page with a cargo assessment. The directory lists every airport; here is a short selection with its own freight text.

Known Limitations
- 1.Geographic base data is derived from OurAirports (Public Domain). Attribution: https://ourairports.com — see methodology for details.
- 2.Cargo classification (cargo_capable, cargo_rank, airport_page_type) reflects Frachtportal's editorial assessment and may differ from official airport operator statements.
- 3.Many records have confidence_level C or D (estimated, not verified). See data_confidence and last_verified_at per record.
- 4.Logistics intelligence fields (cargo_terminal_available, customs_*, etc.) are NULL for the majority of records — research is ongoing.
- 5.Passenger volume data may be outdated for smaller airports.
- 6.Military and private airports are included but flagged; logistics data is minimal.
