Movianto has opened a new pharmaceutical logistics center in the VGP Park Wiesloch-Walldorf. The facility comprises approximately 30,000 square meters of warehouse space and 1,500 square meters of office space. Full operations are scheduled for November 2026. Capacity is distributed across multiple temperature zones. Approximately 32,000 pallet positions are available in the controlled range of 15 to 25 degrees Celsius. An additional 10,000 positions are designated for chilled goods at 2 to 8 degrees. Furthermore, approximately 2,000 to 2,400 deep-freeze positions are provided at minus 20 and minus 26 degrees respectively. Caution is required regarding the frequently mentioned storage at minus 80 degrees. According to detailed specifications, this ultra-low temperature storage is planned for a later phase. While it is essential for certain vaccines and biological pharmaceuticals, it should not be understood as part of the complete initial capacity. The location near motorways A5 and A6 is well-positioned for Southern Germany and Switzerland. Beyond storage, the facility focuses on national and international distribution. For pharmaceutical goods, qualification, temperature recording, and clear handover procedures remain mandatory. Power or cooling failures also require tested emergency procedures and backup capacity.
