The WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement is an international treaty that aims to streamline and harmonize border procedures and documents to reduce trade costs. It binds WTO members to implement measures such as publication of regulations, the establishment of clear and predictable procedures, risk management, the use of single windows or streamlined documentary requirements, fee and charge transparency, post-clearance audit, and transparent timeframes for procedures. The agreement entered into force in 2013 after sufficient ratifications and is designed to facilitate cross-border trade by simplifying and standardizing trade processes.
