Unaccompanied combined transport

A form of intermodal transport in which freight wagons or large containers are moved on trains without accompanying personnel; the shipper delivers at the terminal and the consignee picks up at the destination terminal. Transport typically occurs from origin to destination exclusively via the participating modes at loading and unloading points, without crew or accompanying personnel on the train.
