Definition & Explanation
A logistics provider storing high-value electronics, pharmaceuticals, or luxury goods will routinely encounter contract requirements for TAPA FSR certification. TAPA FSR – Facility Security Requirements – is a standard developed by the Transported Asset Protection Association that defines minimum physical security criteria for warehouses, distribution centres, and logistics facilities. Assessed elements include access control, CCTV surveillance, intruder detection systems, and personnel vetting procedures. Three requirement classes – A, B, and C – allow the security level to be calibrated to cargo value and risk profile, with Class A representing the most stringent tier. Unlike TAPA TSR (Trucking Security Requirements), which governs in-transit road movements, FSR applies exclusively to static facilities.
