Two-Stage Replenishment

Two-Stage Replenishment is a supply chain process in which inventory is refilled through two levels: first a central warehouse or distribution center supplies regional warehouses or intermediate storage locations; then these in turn replenish retail stores or end customers. The approach aims to optimize lead times, order quantities and minimize safety stocks and total inventory costs.
