Marine exhaust gas cleaning systems, also known as scrubbers, are onboard installations designed to remove sulfur oxides (SOx) and other pollutants from ship exhaust gases by washing them with water, thereby ensuring compliance with the emission limits set by MARPOL Annex VI and IMO regulations.
