Performance-Based 3PL Contracts are agreements between shippers and third-party logistics providers in which compensation, incentives and contract duration are tied to predefined performance metrics (e.g. on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, cost efficiency, service levels). The approach aligns the 3PL’s remuneration with target achievement to drive continuous process improvement and cost control, while non-performance may trigger penalties.
