A port energy transition is the process by which ports reduce greenhouse gas emissions and pollutant impacts by adopting low-carbon or zero-emission energy sources and technologies, including electrification of port equipment, use of shore power, alternative fuels for ships and vehicles, energy efficiency measures, and grid and renewable energy integration to enable sustainable and efficient port operations.
