Supplier-Managed Inventory (SMI) is a logistics and supply chain strategy in which the supplier assumes responsibility for managing inventory at the customer's site. The supplier continuously monitors stock levels, determines replenishment quantities, and delivers as needed to optimize inventory and ensure uninterrupted supply.
