Carriage Paid To (CPT) means the seller delivers the goods to a carrier or another person nominated by the seller at an agreed place (the named place of shipment). The seller pays for the carriage to the named destination. Risk transfers to the buyer when the goods are handed over to the first carrier. The seller is not required to insure the goods. The contract places the responsibility for transport from the named place to the destination on the seller, but the risk transfers to the buyer at the point of handover to the first carrier.
