CPT Multimodal Carriage Paid To is an Incoterms rule under which the seller delivers the goods, contracted for carriage, to the first carrier and pays for the carriage to the named destination. The risk passes to the buyer when the goods are handed over to the first carrier, while the seller is responsible for arranging and paying the carriage, including multimodal transport if applicable, to the named place. All costs beyond the named destination and all risks from that point are borne by the buyer.
