CPT (Carriage Paid To) means the seller pays the freight for the carriage of the goods to the named destination. The seller delivers when the goods are handed over to the first carrier, and the risk transfers to the buyer at that point, even if the transport involves a network of carriers or multiple modes. The buyer is responsible for import duties and any subsequent costs at the destination.
