CPT (Carriage Paid To) means the seller pays for the carriage of the goods to the named destination place. The risk transfers to the buyer when the goods are handed over to the carrier at the origin, while the seller is responsible for bringing the goods to the named destination and for paying the freight. Unloading and subsequent transport costs after arrival are typically for the buyer unless otherwise agreed. Insurance is not automatically included.
