CIF Charter

A CIF Charter is a charter party (contract of carriage) for the hire of a vessel or the carriage of goods under a CIF-type arrangement: under CIF (Cost, Insurance and Freight) terms, the seller pays costs, insurance, and freight to the destination port, and risk typically transfers to the buyer when the goods are loaded on board. The CIF setup combines the shipment with specified insurance and freight coverage under CIF conditions.
