Charter party

A charter party is a contract between the shipowner and the charterer whereby the shipowner provides a vessel or part thereof to the charterer for the carriage of goods in exchange for freight payment. It specifies the parties’ rights and obligations regarding loading and unloading, freight payment, and liability.
