Sur la côte sud-ouest du Groenland, au bord de la mer du Labrador, se trouve Qaqortoq (code UN/LOCODE GLJJU), la plus grande ville du Sud groenlandais avec environ 3'000 habitants. Le port naturel dispose d'un tirant d'eau au quai d'environ 7 mètres, permettant d'accueillir des navires jusqu'à 150 mètres.
