Un quai peu profond d'environ 4,9 m et des installations modestes : voilà ce que propose Mariager, petit port du fjord de Mariager, dans le Jutland oriental, dont la vocation commerciale reste limitée. Seuls de petits caboteurs peuvent y faire escale, tandis que le trafic de vrac du fjord – surtout le sel et le ciment – passe par les ports voisins de Dania et Kongsdal ainsi que par Hobro, au fond du fjord. Pour des conteneurs, des marchandises diverses ou des lots de vrac plus importants, mieux vaut s'orienter vers Aalborg ou ces terminaux spécialisés.
