Contrairement à ce que le mot « port » pourrait laisser croire, Jervis Bay n'offre pas de trafic commercial : cette baie naturelle profonde, à environ 180 km au sud de Sydney, est avant tout un site de la marine australienne. On y trouve l'établissement naval HMAS Creswell et le Royal Australian Naval College, entourés du parc national de Booderee et du parc marin de Jervis Bay.
