Hana, sur la côte est de Maui, est aujourd'hui un point d'accostage pour petites embarcations, non un port de fret. La Kaeleku Plantation y a bien expédié du sucre en sacs pendant plus de vingt ans, mais la jetée a fermé en 2010 puis été démolie en 2016. Sans poste en eau profonde, manutention de conteneurs ni douane, son intérêt pour les chargeurs reste très faible. Le fret commercial de Maui passe par le port en eau profonde de Kahului, à environ 90 km à l'ouest.
