Eastport — sur Moose Island, dans la baie de Passamaquoddy, à la frontière américano-canadienne — revendique le port naturel le plus profond des États-Unis continentaux, avec environ 19 m (64 pieds) dans son chenal. Le terminal d'Estes Head, achevé en 1998, accueille des navires jusqu'à 270 m (900 pieds) et se spécialise dans la marchandise diverse et le vrac, principalement la pâte de bois et les produits forestiers, soit environ 300 000 tonnes par an, à l'aide d'une grue mobile portuaire. Le port est administré par l'Eastport Port Authority, le terminal étant exploité par le manutentionnaire Logistec. Eastport n'offre pas de service conteneurisé régulier ; pour ce type de fret et comme solutions régionales, on s'oriente vers Searsport (Mack Point, Maine), Portland (Maine) ou Saint John (Nouveau-Brunswick, Canada). Pour les cargaisons de projet et les produits forestiers à fort tirant d'eau, Eastport reste néanmoins une option de niche compétitive sur la côte est.
