Crude oil is the only cargo at Zeit Bay Terminal, an export installation on the western shore of the Gulf of Suez operated by the Suez Oil Company (SUCO). Loading takes place at single-buoy moorings (SBM/CALM) about 60 kilometres north of Hurghada, fed by the offshore Zeit Bay field, which has produced more than 230 million barrels to date. The facilities comprise six storage tanks, a small LPG berth and an SBM off Ras el Behar able to take tankers of up to roughly 240,000 dwt. There is no container, breakbulk or general-cargo handling and no commercial customs clearance for trade goods, so relevance is confined to petroleum tanker tonnage. Forwarders with boxes or project cargo should instead use Adabiya and Ain Sokhna on the Gulf of Suez, or Port Said on the Mediterranean.
