Built around the multipurpose Bršica terminal, the Port of Raša-Bršica lies in the naturally sheltered Bay of Raša on Istria's Adriatic coast, about 30 nautical miles south-west of Rijeka. The deep-water bay supports generous drafts: the timber terminal offers around 10 m and the livestock piers about 6 m. For the livestock trade the port provides a two-ship berth, stables for roughly 1,000 head of large animals and permanent veterinary inspection on site. Throughput is modest and niche-focused — some 70 vessel calls and about 94,000 tonnes a year, mainly livestock, timber and general cargo, with no container handling. The port operates within the Rijeka Port Authority and connects to the Istrian hinterland by road. For containers and broader general cargo, nearby Rijeka is the natural gateway.
