Thirty-four berths across ten specialised terminals make King Fahd Industrial Port at Yanbu (SA YBI) Saudi Arabia's principal Red Sea outlet for crude oil, refined products and petrochemicals. Designed for around 210 million tonnes of annual capacity, the 6.8 km² complex currently handles roughly 84 million tonnes a year across some 1,800 vessel calls. Cargoes span crude, LPG, LNG, chemicals, bulk, grain, cement, iron ore, containers and Ro-Ro. Its container terminal is run by International Port Services, a Hutchison Port Holdings subsidiary, with six container wharves and two Ro-Ro berths for boxes, vehicles, construction material and heavy machinery. An automated grain terminal with ten silos, an iron-ore berth and two cement terminals round out the mix. Quay depths near 12 m and a 14 m approach channel admit large tankers and bulk carriers. In 2025 the Saudi Ports Authority (Mawani) signed a SAR 500 million deal with Petrotank for an integrated marine bunkering hub at the port. Inland movement runs mainly by road and pipeline toward Yanbu Industrial City; shippers needing dense container services usually route via Jeddah Islamic Port, with clearance through Mawani and customs.
