Live cattle, sugar and agricultural produce outbound, bulk fuel, fertiliser and mining-grade ammonium nitrate inbound — the cargo mix at Wyndham reflects its role as the principal port of the Kimberley in northern Western Australia. Set at the southern end of Cambridge Gulf, the port works a single jetty with two deep-water berths able to take general, bulk and containerised cargo. The gulf's very large tidal range makes berthing tide-dependent, and there is no regular container liner service.
