Three conventional buoy moorings (CBM) and submarine pipelines to shore tanks are all Wadi Feiran needs, because this facility on the eastern shore of the Gulf of Suez is a pure oil loading terminal, about 150 km south-southeast of Suez. It loads crude from the Gulf's production fields, with roughly 200 tankers calling each year, up to around 275 m length and 105,000 DWT at close to 16 m draught. Classified as an open roadstead, it has no general-cargo quay (pier depth 0 m) and handles neither containers nor conventional freight; pilotage is compulsory and tug assistance is available. For container, breakbulk or project cargo in the region, Adabiya, Sokhna or the Suez Canal ports are the right choices. Wadi Feiran belongs to the chain of Gulf of Suez oil terminals — alongside Ras Gharib, Belayim and Zeit Bay — but has no relevance for forwarding logistics outside the tanker segment.
