50.1 million tonnes of seaborne cargo passed through the North Sea Port group in the first nine months of 2025, about 1% below the year before, with dry and liquid bulk holding steady. Containers remain a minor line of business here, so for box volumes and deeper draft Antwerp and Rotterdam are the primary alternatives, with Terneuzen and Ghent covering bulk.
