Fifteen berths, some 4,479 metres of quay and around 1.5 million square metres of yard underpin Tokyo Ko, Japan's leading container port on the North Pacific. The complex moved roughly 4.7 million TEU in 2024, spread across its main terminals at Oi, Aomi and Daikoku, which together offer deep-water quays and several thousand reefer slots for chilled and frozen imports. Beyond boxes, the port handles general cargo, timber, foodstuffs and automobiles on RoRo berths. Serving Greater Tokyo, Japan's largest consumer market, it connects to expressways and rail for rapid hinterland distribution. Full customs and quarantine clearance is available, including cold-chain handling. Together with Yokohama and Kawasaki it forms the Keihin port group. Lines needing larger vessels or transshipment frequently call neighbouring Yokohama instead.
